You know, even though Tom was seriously injured on the job, I am sure he felt proud of himself that he at least tried to help somebody in trouble and I am sure his friends and family were proud of him too.

So tragic. What a true hero. I remember seeing this as a little kid when my dad and I watched this each week, it bothers me more now that I can better understand him giving everything for another person. Incredibly selfless, thank you Tom.

He was injured on the job, so I should hope he would be taken care of with health insurance and special needs he might have now through disability type insurance through his work. Its amazing that he lived. This one was intense and hard to watch, but inspiring.
