Thanks for posting this. It's one of the best films I have ever seen! :)

Thanks, rabbanif, for posting this most atmospheric movie, so evocative of the final days of the Habsburg Empire. There are inevitable similarities with Joseph Roth's 1932 novel "Radetzkymarsch", and the plot's historical accuracy is questionable, but Klaus Maria Brandauer and the other actors are really excellent.
I think Winston Churchill got it about right when he said that the old Austrian Monarchy was like a beautiful vase: those who smashed it could not put it back together again.

Kösz, hogy feltetted.

would be nice if someone uploaded Szabo's "Hanussen"...

the movie probably depicts well the reality of the late days of the austrian-hungarian empire but has NOTHING to do Redl's real story. In the movie he is shown as a victim of a political provocation, but in fact he was just a plain traitor...

Having been waiting for this.... like all others who have commented, this is a surreally impressive film. Up their with "Il Gattopardo".

By the number of people who got here to watch this movie you can see that Szabo Istvan is not well known to broad audience. Less then 4000 visitors to this site for a master pice! not a great score.
