I'd take the Amarok.

I want the new Ranger and that SICK looking VW to come to the USA. They may be half the trucks of our F-150 but thats all i really need.

Toyota's the best, then theres the rest!

this is my opinion no offense you buy a 4x4 to go off the road not on the road well what do you expect in the hilux if its doesn't drive as well as the amarok, the hilux is built to go off road while the amarok is attempting to do that well they nearly got it right and besides you don't drive very fast in the on the road and for me the amarok looks and feels to engineered for a truck(which is good)but its just to posh and you don't need touch screen anyway for me hilux wins i don't care what

Just reading the comments, I have to point out that you have the choice of full time OR selectable 4x4 when you get the Ultimate. I know because I have a selectable 4x4 Ultimate. All other Amarok variants have selectable 4x4 only.

@matt05x Hi Matt, thanks for the information. We're at the mercy of car companies and if they don't option a car with something then we're stuck. Our car only had permanent all-wheel drive and not a low-range option.

You're absolutely right... if we'd been able to get our hands on a Highline with low range, the HiLux would have been left for dead.

Hi all, we certainly weren't implying the HiLux was as comfortable as an S-Class... but as far as Utes go it isn't bad. But the Amarok is better. And while we had the Amarok Ultimate in our comparison, the Highline, which features low-range is every bit the Hilux's match off-road. That it can tow more and carry more, and is more comfortable inside is icing on the cake.
