I wish mobilegs were available back in the 1990's when I was injured and had to have patella reconstruction. I used wooden crutches and they were uncomfortable. Had to use them for 6 weeks total. No such thing as rental of crutches here in the Philippines. You have to buy everything yourself here.
Hmm...when I broke my leg I just rented crutches, actually from the hospital. I don't know why anyone would BUY a set for something that's temporary. The ones I rented were quite comfortable. Since I'm short, they actually fitted me with a pair of children's crutches, then adjusted them exactly. What do you do with crutches once you've healed? My insurance paid for the rental fees, I don't think they would have paid to BUY a pair. Nobody even suggested that option.
