Dr. Samuel Palmer Brooks, president of Baylor University, could not deliver his Message to the Class of 1931 at the graduation ceremony. He died on May 14 of that year. His final message was read to the class by acting president W. S. Allen. The message, now immortalized as a charge to Baylor University and her students, withstands time and breaches barriers, burning eternally in the hearts and souls of Baylor family.

The message is retold here by the 2010 Baylor University Line Camp leaders.
