Leigh Whittaker -- College of Charleston Cougars Golf Team -- Golf Swing

Leigh Whittaker is the College of Charleston's top female golfer and is currently ranked third nationally in the German women's golf rankings. In 2010-11 she had the top scoring average in school history with a 73.08. She won the Palmetto Intercollegiate by nine shots and set a school tournament record.

Whittaker cites Charleston's hospitality, beautiful weather and the fall Cougar Classic golf tournament as top reasons she chose the College of Charleston. Year after year, the Cougar Classic, held at Yeaman's Hall, boasts one of the best women's collegiate golf fields. In 2011, six of the top 10 women's collegiate golfers were represented. Universities including Louisiana State, Wake Forest, Florida State, University of Virginia, University of Tennessee and University of North Carolina attend.
