I was flying around the Hawk Sky, upgraded with the MicroJET V3 motor. It had enough power to fly around with an HD camera on it, the GoPro HD. It was a windy day and very turbulent with all the trees. I Just couldn't land it soft enough, and the camera was ripped from the plane. Everything survived!

  • where did you have the go pro mounted on the plane? also how does it affect the COG

  • @cmptrainer I had it mounted just in front of the removable canopy on the Hawk Sky. I used the sticky mounts that came the the GoPro camera. As far as CG, it did make it pretty nose heavy, but the power out of the new motor made up for it. You just have to fly a little faster :)

  • Good video quality, i guess i ought to get a Gopro HD for my planes

  • @jrd1461 I like it a lot. I use it for all kinds of wide shots.

  • That was a good crash!

  • @RCSuperPowers I try. Thanks for stopping by. Big fan!

  • Haha lol 0:45 you got yourself into the video lol

  • Cool love gopro!!!

  • hahah lol... boing boing boiiing !!

  • @jrd1461 look at the vids done with a Sony Bloggie...you may change your mind. i own a gopro and it is not the 'end all be all'. I will be picking up a Sony Bloggie(even though I have a lense on order to repair the Gopro after my 'ooops of the week'...if not year!) I have had a bunch of flights on a radian with the GoPro right on the nose that went fine...but it only takes once 0_0. V3 is a great little motor I use one(with a light bat) on a custom stryker so I can go fast or real slow.

  • that was not a crash...that was a bounce off the grass(lucky for you)...go see my video response...I will show you how to F' up a Gopro. :D :D I have a new cam lense on order from stunt cams I'm going with a 135 degree lense as the 170 is too wide and distorts too much for the sake of getting so much into the field of view. I was going to do that lens replacement anyway...just did not plan on whacking it like I did...on WHAT I did! It made for a great crash vid though!

  • @YouGumppy NO that is actually NOT true. too many people believe that- it keeps them from maxing the flyability of their plane. My Radian Pro is a bit nose heavy(and 14oz over stock weight)and it thermals as if God is trying to steal it from me. WITH THE MOTOR OFF. Just enough nose weight(some would call 'heavy') buffers the pitch response and can actually stabilize a planes angle of attack for better lift in conditions where a perfect (for still air)Cg trimmed plane would be kicked out. Fact.

  • See my GP crash video! I CHOSE the Gopro; paid good money for it. it is a cool camera in some ways. But you gotta admit that when I needed a part(cam lense) and the company would rather try to get me to shell out $200+ bucks for another GP(and flat out LIES 'it cannot be fixed')and then I find that it CAN easily be fixed(for about 80 bux after a minor Google search(stuntcams(dot)com), how that does not make me feel that Gopro cares about owners after warranty-OR the truth. Marketeers!

  • A nose-heavy airplane with no engine generating thrust anymore is a rock!

  • niice niice!!!
