I had this weird dream one night, then I wrote a poem about it. At the end of my wits

and a long hallway,

too many doors to investigate.

Try number three or maybe four

'cause sleep won't come

no more.

Up the stairs,

an eerie feeling-

shadows lurk behind.

As I whirl around,

my mind is reeling-

no life do I find.

Twisting doorknob number five,

a trickster pulls the other side.

All my sanity says goodnight,

but sleep won't come

no more.

Who turned off the lights?

I cannot see my hand.

Thrown back but now let in,

to see his ether land.

I scratch my sleepy head,

wondering why no one is there.

Who led me down the hallway,

up the stairs,

and to his lair?

At the end of a dream,

and a long Escher night,

Sleep won't come

no more,

no more,

Sleep won't come

no more,

no more,

not without a fright.
