Totally stock 1984 Mercedes 300D running 100% waste vegetable oil collected from restaurants and filtered. No modifications have been done to the car whatsoever. It actually runs smoother on the veggie oil.

  • Is this the turbo or non-turbocharged engine?

  • @longbottle it's the turbo

  • Very cool, how long have you been running it like this for?

  • @Aran3333 For a few months. I let it sit for 2 weeks one time with only vegetable oil in the tank and it fired up no problem. It is summer though... when it is colder, vegetable oil has a tendency to gel up and I will have to mix it with diesel.

  • @Aran3333 hmmmm... I would consult someone first before trying on a newer car... unless it is an indirect injection engine. For direct injection engines such as newer Mercedes and Volkswagen TDI, it won't work unless you start the engine on diesel, let it warm, then switch to veggie oil

  • @VancouverBioFuels Sweet. Yeah I'm been researching it for a while and might just try it out on a 1999 e300td. Any thoughts?
