@garfgary It's cellophane tape (see 3:49). It's used to reduce (hopefully eliminate) feedback with hollowbody guitars. IMO, it's a shame, but depending on how the set is mic'd and amplified, it's hard to avoid sometimes. And that's his signature model Ibanez GB200 (that's GB for George Benson). That's a $4000 guitar modifed with 10 cents worth of tape. :-/
