Italia In Diretta takes a look at the Martelli presentation of an exclusive selection of their collection of precious vintage pieces in the Denim hall at THE SOURCE.
The artistically staged exhibition of the "Martelli Vintage Collection" drew a lot of attention. The Collection is the fruit of researching the denim industry for nearly 20 years. They've collected nearly 4000 pairs of jeans, jean jackets, and overalls some of which are from the 1800's. To rationalize their research of the second hand market, they've created a denim museum exhibit with 150 items selected for their uniqueness and originality. The archive of vintage garments from nearly every brand started in the Paris flea markets and has extended from the UK and US markets even to Japan. The research helps one appreciate the different techniques and affects that fading, finishing, and different tints has on denim.
