Driving Fast Across Loveland Pass.wmv

Loveland Pass is part of Highway 6 in Colorado,USA. This video starts and ends at approximately 10, 800 feet and the road crosses the Continental Divide at 11,990 feet. Normally the drive takes about 15 minutes, but I've speeded it up a bit and the video is about 3 1/2 minutes.

The beginning of this clip starts at the Loveland Ski Area parking lot and ends at the Arapahoe Basin ski area. Depending on the snowfall, both of these places are high enough to allow skiing into May, June or sometimes even July. (Looks like July in 2011 due to the record snowfall in 2010-2011 - WOOHOO!)

This video was shot on May 5, 2011. With the blue skies and clear roads, one might think that the melt had started. However, it's now May 23, 2011 and another couple of feet has fallen in the past couple of weeks. Unbelievable!

Thanks for watching...It was Cinco de Mayo on a Thursday. My season's done for the year. Tore an ACL while going off a cornice at the Basin WAAAA. But what a season to remember!!!

That was lovely, Robert! Glorious scenery and the music was just right. At times on that drive I was nearly clutching the arms of my chair! :)
