Until I returned to bluegrass/acoustic blues, I spent over a decade playing electric guitar, and in particular, electric blues in the west side Chicago, Texas blues, and west coast jump styles. My heroes were (and still are) Hollywood Fats, Jimmie Vaughn, Earl Hooker, Magic Sam, Duke Robillard, SRV, Freddie King, the Red Devils, the Fabulous TBirds, James Harman, Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets, the LeRoi Brothers, etc.

This jam was filmed October 2002 at a friend's wedding reception. I'm playing guitar. Tom Harold (harmonica) and Dave Wyatt (bass) are of the Gordon Bonham Blues Band (www.gordonbonham.com) and Craig Brenner--New Orleans style piano player extraordianaire--is playing piano (craigbrenner.com). JJ Perry is on drums. JJ is my compadre and we had a kick-ass blues band called the Forecasters years ago.

Totally raw and unrehearsed, it showcases a lot of what the Central Indiana blues scene has to offer.

  • Are you lot deaf or what? It was a below average rendition. Sounds like my dads playing the guitar and he only has one arm.

    Bland bag of shite...

  • I found you by searching for Scott Kellogg.

I used to play with him in a band called

"The Kind" back in 1990 in Lafayette, IN. Oh, my God, where have the years gone. Do you have any videos with him in it? You're a great player, by the way.

I've played in a band called Bakin' Brownies in

Austin, Tx for about 10 years now. Tell Scott "Hi" if you see him, from Dave Paul.

  • dark silhouettes in the foreground, nicely lit band....cool

  • Superb!!!!

  • I always loved James Harmon. It's amazing to see him with a white beard. Wow. Is that jeff ross on guitar?

I wish Top Jimmy had stuck around to see this.

  • Hey Jim,this is the best live blues post!!!

  • Why should I ever leave my house again? You guys are great, and if I want to go out to a blues club, I can always tune into you here! Thanks for posting!
