WROC-TV (Channel 8) reports on a forum hosted by Rochester Institute of Technology to teach high school students skills related to careers in sustainability.
34 students from the Rochester City Schools got lessons in going green today thanks to RIT students. The students, from schools across the district, spent their holiday learning about eco-friendly employment opportunities. They got a tour of RIT's sustainability campus and learned how to do energy audits, a skill they can take home with them.
"They're going to going back to their schools, checking out their buildings, seeing how the teachers are doing at conserving, and how efficient teir buildings are."
Once students have completed energy audits in their own schools they my be able to work with small businesses to make energy and money saving suggestions for them.
