I thought they did a great Job!!! Very Proud of them. I agree if they slow down will definitely increase the emotional content. Secondly I would love to see them play in the midmorning/afternoon slot (that performance was at 8am).

Sound can use a lot of improvement. A few wrong notes. At times, it was a beautiful harmony, but at times it got ugly and out of tune. 1st trombone was a bit too chopy. Nice dynamics! You forgot the sFz. Keep in mind that this piece is a 5 minute piece and you can play it slower to accent the piece a bit more. Work on the legato and tuning throughout the piece. I'd give it a strong performance at division III (good) at the high school level.

This really sounds like you all are playing a bunch of random notes with a hint of the song in there. work on pronouncing each note; play each note like your life has a purpose! Sing the song with your instrument and most importantly. Do it in tune.
