Here is a 1964 Zenith model 6075U, with a the 25LC20Q chassis. In the rare, limited production chinese provincial cabinet. This set has space command 400 remote control. I completed restoration to the TV (electronically) in June of 2008. This set has the original 21FJP22 CRT and had cataract reapair done to it, which I describe in a 7 part series on youtube.

  • what was that buzz when you pressed the volume control?

  • @PINKBOY1006 The buzzing you hear is the energizing of the coil on the mute relay.

  • when did they stop using tubes in TV sets

  • @ct5006360 Most all manufactuers last year for using tubes was 1974, even though there are some real low end models that were carried over into 1975 that had tubes, but that was it. Rare exception to the GE portacolor, which supposedly used tubes up until 1980! But for all practical purposes, 1974 was the end.
