I created this song to voice my concern as a member of the global community. In light of recent events in the UK, Middle East and the global financial crisis, I felt compelled to create a video for this song. As I was editing this video I received an alert that there was a state of emergency enacted for Trinidad, my mother's home country, and on CNN there was LIVE coverage of the revolution happening in Libya. I found myself thinking...
My people...we need to really wake up to what's happening around us.
...My people...we need to reset our moral compass and focus on what's really important
...My people...the future for our children is not a very bright one if we continue down this road of dumb down music, dumb down television, and dumb down education.
...My people...I could go on...and on...and on.
...My people, my people...my people....open your eyes and as my father would say...let's 'Pick sense out of non-sense'.
