Just a quick tip, when you need to drain off your biodiesel and the level doesn't reach the tap off point, put something like a 5 gallon drum full of water in there and the level will rise. Nice vid, keep going.

OK then, what is the brand name of this stuff you use so we can all go and buy it.
-
its a non kerosene white spirit. simple as. what are you,the leading authority on everything?
-
Are you trying to say your additive isnt taxable? Any fuel additive/substitute other than recognised biodiesel and vegetable oil must have road duty paid on it. Sounds to me like youre simply dodging the HMRC men.
Maybe you would like to say specifically what your 'non kerosine white spirit' is, pure turpentine by any chance? Even if it is, tax still needs to be paid on the portion of 'solvent' used, this is why petrol is now used as its tax paid.
-
non kerosene based white spirit isnt taxable so its not illegal
-
Using white spirit in the UK is specifically excluded in HMRC specs, get caught and you're doing time!

well the engine had done 128,000 miles before i got it so its done 163,000 miles total& it has the arsed thrashed off it at regular intervals and doesnt sit still for very long. i know many people that use white spirit and veg oil who have had no probs. look how many people use veg oil as a fuel for there cars, you only have to look at youtube to realize the scale of it worldwide and i only heard of the pajero blowing its seals in all my years of being a mechanic and knowing veg oil is ok to use.
-
they don't say it won't work they say the lucas pumps are more prone to seals going
good luck on you if its going ok for you ..personally i would not risk it but its your car your choice
let me know how you getting on at 100,000 miles
-
well 35,000 miles, two and a half years and its still running fine, same injectors, same rings, same fuelpump etc. and mine runs on a Lucas CAV rotodiesel pump which all internet forums say wont run wiv veg oil so this proves them and you wrong.
hi, i find it much easier to mix veg oil wiv 5% - 10% white spirit, leave it to thin itself for a couple of days, then put it straight in my car. no heating, no chemicals and i have done over 35,000 miles no problem,

1. In the UK mixing with white spirit makes it taxable.
2. This will not work will all diesel engines (direct injection, common rail etc) where as biodiesel will.

Nice post, thanks for sharing.
Particularly like the red light to show when your heater is on - excellent idea.
Happy brewing!
