You didn't need to beat around the bush when speaking of communism in that era. If you were, you just came out and said it. Combine this with the timing of this speech, the executive order, and the assassination... it's too close together to be ignored. The president of the US need not be obscure when calling out the Soviet Union. Listen to the words carefully.
