A short presentation given by Australian freelance journalist Andrew McMillen on what he's learned from two years on the job.

This took place at the Walkley Foundation's student MediaPass industry day in Brisbane on September 1 2011, before an audience of around 50 journalism students.

From left to right, the panel consists of: freelance journalist Andrew McMillen (http://andrewmcmillen.com/), freelance editorial illustrator Joanne Brooker (http://thebrookerstudio.com/), and freelance documentary photographer Dean Saffron (http://www.deansaffron.com/).

This presentation consists of a brief introduction from Andrew on his story so far as a freelance journalist, and then a list of some things he's learned in the last two years while freelancing.
