Tomato Fights

You don't have to travel to Banul, Spain to squash and throw tomatoes at your friends and neighbors. You can head to Pittston Pennsylvania the "Tomato Capital of the World" instead......
The tradition of the tomato fights began in 1944 in Bunol, Spain. Every year, truckloads of tomatoes are dumped into the town square and everyone is fair game as they crush and throw tomatoes at each other. The Pittston Tomato Fights will be a bit more organized, albeit organized chaos, and truckloads of fun.
One open round of up to 100 goggle wearing participants will divide and face off in a battle where there are no losers. Participants will toss rotten tomatoes which will be aimed at friendly foes across a parking lot.

There are now more people who die of being overweight than being underweight. Iit's true - google it!)  so you could say this event saved some lives :D. I guess a McDonalds hamburger fight would probably have saved more lives though. who's up for a McD fight? eeeew - greesy.

Just a couple of things to say. The village in Spain is Bunyol and not Banul. And this is a very poor copy of a world famous event. This is baby's stuff compared to the original which I took part in 1999. Now every year in Bunyol there is 40,000 people take part. What next in America. A town copying the famous Bull running of Pamplona, North East Spain
