There's also scenic summer lift rides to Sugar Mountain's 5,300 ft peak and if you time it right you can take part in Shag Dancing at Sugar or Oktoberfest. Oktoberfest is always the 2nd weekend in October and is free admission for the whole family. Within minutes there's Lodging, Fine Dining, major attractions, family festivals, and the Blue Ridge Parkway along with many other day to day conveniences.
