In our second instalment, Osceola County Florida businessman Tony Ferentinos is falsley accused by Lamar's office of being an ex-con parolee on-the-lam. Ferentinos is arrested and thrown in jail, which the newspapers dutifully report. Tony's real "crime?" He dared to run for Osceola County Commission against one of Lamar's "good ol' boy" buddies. No retraction is offered by the newpaper, and Tony's business is hurt as a result.
Can you believe that Mangrum actually got promoted to a much wanted and richly deserved senior position ahead of me, despite something like this? It couldn't BE because I am a woman and he's not, or that I have moral principles against this sort of claptrap and Lawson can't use people who have principles. Nah, couldn't be that!
