walk softly, carry a big stick

While in office you shall not hear me utter words and phrases such as ‘crusade,’ or ‘bring it on.’ I needn’t be bellicose. Our military is the mightiest the world has ever seen, with the capacity to obliterate any nation and destroy the entire world many times over. With as stick that big, I need only ever speak softly - and so I shall.
This is Eve Darling, National Optimists Party candidate for president. Those who fail to recognize the stern resolve behind the kind face or the iron will behind the genteel manner do so at their own peril.
I propose, our Party proposes, an ideal future for all. Woe to those obdurate obfuscators of obscure purpose who attempt to intervene.
