It's getting to be that time of year again! The wintry icons, as part of the new set released in March 2010, are making appearances on the national feed and are now creeping into our local forecasts.
Alpena, Michigan, settled north of the 45th parallel, was the Michigan spotlight this morning. Their airport reported light snow during three of its hourly reports in the morning, along with two reports of "Unknown Precipitation" (to which HiRAD responds as a Wintry Mix).
At the same time, lake effect rain and snow off of Lake Ontario is showering down from Syracuse down to Albany and over to the Finger Lakes region of New York state. Mackinac Island also has snow in the forecast for this weekend... and so do we! A small system is forecast to come through the Great Lakes late in the week.
The songs are (in order of appearance):
-"I'm Not Listening" by Gooding
-"Dance With Me" by Jackiem Joyner
-"Punta Del Soul" by Dave Grusin
Here in Virginia, our local on the eights still has the old icons! We don't believe in change.
