Pacific Outdoor Equipment - Peak Oyl Aero Mountain Women's sleeping mat

This new-to-the-UK brand harnesses NASA technology to give its mats a 10-15 per cent insulation boost over the next best.

They use Aspen Aerogel insulation, originally from space suits, to maximise the thermal performance of this 773g mummy-shaped mat with minimal weight gain.

This means it's super-warm and suitable for use in all four seasons.

  • you might be wrong but is the company not in Montana in the USA since it is called Pacific out door and not Portuguese outdoor

  • Interesting. I have recently (this summer) made the switch from foam to air sleeping mats. I've saved much room, especially when storing it in a drybag attatched to the outside of the backpack.

I have some kind of cheap McKinley mat now. I plan to upgrade to one of those exped mats with built in pump. That would be luxurious!
