On March 20th 2003, at the start of the US war on Iraq, an estimated 15,000 people marched through downtown Chicago in a peaceful protest. More than 500 of them were wrongfully arrested. Another 100 people were arrested the following days during planned non-violent civil disobedience actions. This is trailer to a documentary called "Where we Stood" by Linda Beckstrom, Blake Beckstrom, Jon Groot, and Seth Skundrick.

  • @cyklonb1989 Equally, America's involvement in WWII was also self-interested but does that mean we should invalidate the statement that US overthrew one of the most evil regime in history? No, those are separate issues.

  • @ElTantaran86 True, that might not be the real reason behind the war. But that doesn't invalidate my statement. Is Saddam Hussein's regime a fascist one? Did the Iraq War overthrow him?

  • @cyklonb1989 give me a fucking break. that isn't why we invaded. If you really believe in that, then you should be outraged about us not getting involved in Darfur or Rwanda. And even if you are, you're missing the damn point. This was an unjust war built on government driven fear and deception of the public.

  • Historians of the future will mock this as the biggest protest in history AGAINST the overthrow of a fascist government.

  • thanks for an edited video nice job

  • That would be unconstitutional. Americans have a right to protest. If you feel that people should be killed for protesting, perhaps you would be happier in a country like North Korea. Just a thought.

  • haha obvious troll is obvious.

  • usa/israel enemies forever

  • Yep, war's not so bad when there's a liberal Demcorat in office. Obama has even escalated the war in Afghanistan, with "principled" liberals sitting by in silence.

What a bunch of transparent clowns.
