The famous UK ad for Shake N Vac ad made in 1979.
First going on air in the early 1980s, the advert featured the English actress Jenny Logan dancing around a typical British living room in high heels, shaking the powder onto a carpet and hooveing it up, while singing a musical jingle. The main lyric is "do the Shake 'n' Vac, and put the freshness back".
It ran successfully throughout 1980's then occasionally in the 90's and 2000's.
The jingle was in a 1950s rock and roll retro style. This style was very popular in the 1970s and 1980s in the UK. In 2000, the advert polled 18th place in the Channel 4 The 100 Greatest TV Adverts programme.

Remember this vividly - one thing I remember thinking is how modern the vacuum looked compared to my mums at the time!!! They now know how bad Shake and Vac was for the bearings of vacuum cleaners!!!

it is weird how the interior decor and styling of the house always looked cool in this ad, but crap in real life homes
