Mac has a UNIX core that, if you know how to use it, will allow you to do huge things with your computer.
What Apple did here was that it took the original (awesome) UNIX core, and just added a (awesome) GUI. Yes, I agree, there are some people who take it just because they don't know anything about computers, but, as I said before, if you know how to use it, Mac will seem much more awesome.
