@cjb227 Zero had a decision to make, teleport back down to earth where he'd be safe...

Or Destroy willy once and for all.

If Zero went back to earth, Area Zero would have been destroyed by Willy.

If he stayed on Ragnarok and destroyed willy, area Zero would have been saved.

When Zero beat WIlly, Ragnarok started to break apart and burn up.

Since Ragnarok was traveling so fast, Zero was never able to make it off in time.

After Ragnarok was gone, all that was left of zero was his Helmet.
