An "overpowered" Union Pacific Mission Bay Turn freight heads south towards Redwood City with GP40-2 #1448 in the lead. Also in the consist are ex-Rio Grande GP40-2 #1347, GP38-2 #331, and ex-Cotton Belt GP40M-2 #1528. Also note the Golden West Service covered hopper. The ex-Cotton Belt engine is usually on the Broadway Local but since it is running with the MBT, the Broadway Local will only have 1 engine on tonight. Most likely the MBT will pick up more cars at Redwood City and eventually wind up at San Jose to drop off and pick up cars with the Salinas Local or another freight train.
