**I DO NOT OWN ANYTHING HERE.**
Disney owns the movie and song, the Japanese dubbing company owns this version.
The title translates as "Facilier's Plan".
Annotations MUST be on to see the subtitles!
*Translation notes*
- When Facilier says, "I can look into your soul..." I wasn't too sure on how to translate that correctly, given that it uses 込み, meaning "included". I just used the line from the English version.
- When Facilier is putting the cards out, I kept the "from" and "to" in there, because it is technically correct, and not just me adding in more words to make it fancy. I don't like that wording in English, but I go for accuracy.
- I contemplated using the slang "green" for money, but decided against it for the sake of accurate subtitles.
- The word "dominated" when using to describe Lawrence's married life is accurate; the verb used is a form of "shiri ni shiku" (尻に敷く), meaning "to dominate", and it's usually used when speaking about a wife "dominating" her husband.
- Kaizou (改造), which I turned into "reformation", means "remodeling" or "restructuring". Neither of these sounded nearly as good, so again I went for what Facilier said in English. Glad that it's a close synonym of the actual meaning.
- In Facilier's last line, he does NOT say "my friends on the other side" to Naveen. He says "yatsura" to address the voodoo spirits, which literally means "they" or "those guys".
Sung by Dr. Facilier (Motomu Azaki).
I love it when he says "Don't worry!" xD Japanese is a cute language. Unfortunately it messes up the rhythm one or twice. Still, the voice is AWESOME!

Who would agree that this guy would make an awesome Kingdom Hearts villain?

@LadySpellcaster How exactly is it a play on words?
CidTheNinja 4 months ago
@Ed2Bobobo He says that he has money in the future. It makes no sense either way.

@CidTheNinja
Perhaps it would be a lack thereof?

the "green" turned into "money" doesn't exactly fit too well. how does being turned into a frog equal money?
