I love this speech, makes my skin crawl. I also love the song. But I feel that the speech is more powerful when played and listened to on its own. It doesn't really need music to emhance its effect. No disrespect mate!

does anybody else think that he sounds kinda like Nick Stahl who played John Connor in Terminator 3 after 1:05 Kinda ironic since Fear Factory's whole concept is losely based on terminator.

Indeed cog.... the movies over and yes fear factory timelessness

there's also an australian rock band that put the machine sppech at the beginning of a song. Electrifying intro too.

I'm sorry, the music is catchy enough, but I agree with the others on this - this speech is a powerful turning point in the 60's free speech movement and are words that people look to for strength and inspiration and they're being covered up...
I didn't feel that the music emphasized or enhanced the speech at all and that is the true purpose of scoring spoken word.
The music is completely unnecessary, and insults Mario, totally. He would be hurling if he saw this commercialization and dumbing-down of his speech. Hell, I'm insulted. Let his words speak for themselves, please. Thank You.

lol. It took me a sec to realize what you meant by commercialization. I'm not affiliated with the band in any way. I just thought the two went well together. Thanks for the support.

"...If that dramatist were writing a movie, he could justifiably entitle it "Mario Savio, Son of Immanuel Kant." (Cap:TUIdeal:22\AynRand&al)

the clip is an outcry against suppression of freedoms, against parasites who would force servitude.
That may be taking Savio's general mindset and message out of context, but philosophically corrupt men may nonetheless say brilliant, meaningful things.
I don't think wisdom is so plentiful that we may dispense with it simply when we dislike the vendor.
