One caterpillar said to the other caterpillar, while watching a butterfly, you'll never get me up in one of those things.

@savanah37615 The process from egg to butterfly takes about four weeks in the summer. The egg takes 7 to 10 days; the larva/caterpillar and pupa/chrysalis each take about 10 to 14 days. In autumn, winter and spring it takes a lot longer (if it happens at all). Peace, Love and Joy!

It was in a box, the caterpillars do not leave the milkweed so they do not wonder off.
