Well, it's been too long, but I got me a new video. This time I'll talk about the Boston Bruins. The Bruins have decent offense, and while they're not totally heavy they don't have many stars that can help blow out teams unless you have great skill. Adam Oates is one of the greatest playmakers in the game, blessed with good skating, awesome passing, strong awareness and stickhandling. However, his shot ratings suffer a bit, thus he's more suitable of creating plays rather than finishing them, but he is not to be understimated. Coming alongside him are Ted Donato, Joe Juneau, Dimitri Kvartalov and Cam Neely. Neely is a tough luxury, as he's rather heavy despite having strong offensive ratings; in Blitz he's a lot useful since he can bring down opposing skaters with ease. Juneau was a rookie and this was going to be his 2nd year, but he can create a few opporunities when given a chance. Donato finds more use in the Classic version since he's pretty light and has a bit of offense. Kvartalnov feels like the odd man out, but he has some uses in case one of the guys is off his game.

For d-men... hoo, boy! Ray Bourque's the total package. He can skate pretty well, he can set up teammates nicely, he can shoot and he can hit hard as hell. He can pretty much do a bit of everything, even as he wouldn't as many in Classic, but he's pretty much a force of nature in Blitz. Glen Wesley and Gord Murphy can hold their ground pretty well in case Bourque's weight is an issue for you. Bob Sweeney is pretty good and can help out in many situations because of his strong mobility, stickhandling and passing. You would think that in Blitz he wouldn't be as useful, right? Well, you'd be wrong! He is still accountable in both plays of the ice, so don't take your eyes off of him.

When it comes to goalies, Andy Moog can come up with clutch saves when the game's on the line. Although EA gave him ratings that make him feel like he's a bit off his prime despite piling on lots of wins for Boston in 1992-93. He's still pretty quick and handles pretty well for a big save, though. John Blue is a pretty able backup despite his awareness inflating his ratings a bit. Both goaiies can still get the job done regardless of the situation and dangers.

Next video will feature the Buffalo Sabres. It'll probably be the last video in which I'll do full games, but I'll try to give good content on future videos since YouTube now lets you upload 15-minute videos, which is good completeness' sake. See ya!

  • You wish, lol. I actually posted this video months ago, but the fact that Bill Simmons found this video was really suprising for me and I feel kinda honored, really.

Perhaps I should get off my ass and make new ones.
