Here is a useful warm up/picking exercise based on the scale of A major. You can download a pdf file of the exercise, including fingering and picking suggestions, on the "Lessons" page of my website:

  • TABS PLEASE

  • @Deadfishization Tabs are available on my website.

  • @thrip thanks! I've been trying to build speed and trying to hold the pick correctly but don't seem to make progress. Any tips?

  • @musty911 It's just a matter of practice unfortunately, stick with it and it WILL happen,

  • Why in gypsy picking down stroke is used to pick the strings upward?

  • @SunE6792 it gives greater volume and tone whilst enabling the arm to remain relaxed and free of tension
