To Swype punctuation, you Swype from the desired punctuation mark to the space key. For example, to make a period you Swype from the period key to the space key and a period with a space after it will be automatically inserted.

@captainLAGER You can touch type even when using swype. Just keep tapping the space and then continue to swype

What about parentheses when I don't want a trailing space? Do I have to hold it then?
