Unfortunately, I've seen little evidence that criminality is an impediment to being a politician and until American citizens demand ACCOUNTABILITY from their elected officials, unscrupulous politicians will continue to act... criminally.

After all, they voted in that idiot ex-actor Ronald Regean as President over an intelligent and capable man like Jimmy Carter in 1980.......

Still, the whole 60's Batman series was corny to the point where looking back, people laugh at how moronic the people in the storyline truly were.

Having said that, the Penguin would indeed make a clever politician if he hadn't decided to become a criminal instead.

Only a moron would fall for Penguin's tricks in this set-up.

Anyone with half a brain would figure out that Penguin's around the police because he's being arrested by them and that Batman's around criminals because he's stopping them from committing crimes.

They'd also figure out that Penguin's behind Batman's side of things not being heard. Only a complete idiot on crack would fall for Penguin's con job.
