I was wondering what you did as far as motor mounts. did you have to make motor mounts or did you find a kit? I picked up an '84 this weekend and my first thought was mild restoration and diesel repower. Let me hear from you. I'm very interested and I would like to know everything I can.

Let me know how it comes out. I wan't to put one of these in my 02 in place of the 4.2. Which transmission are you running? Due to inspect reasons, I have to have some form of muffler (gutted glass is what it will probably be). Are you going to be running straight piped or with some form of exhaust? Also, done any mods for more power?

@59bamaboy Well dont know yet, the truck is still at the shop to get the exhaust done, shift linkages finished and powersteering lines made. Been there for 6+ weeks now and not quiet finished yet. But once it is, and I run a few tanks through it, I'll get back on here and let you know. But leaving my trucks suspension and tires stock, I'm predicting upper 20's in mileage. And I'll bet that the power will be better than my old 302.

hey what did you have to do to do the swap?

@paintballer653 Well, I pretty much replaced everything, the engine, transmission, transfercase...but unlike many others, I didn't have to modify the Cummins oil pan at all. It all fit as though it was meant to be in there. Those are the major things that were done, I've spent a lot of time running through the electical system trying to get rid of what I no longer need yet keeping what I do need.
