After many requests I've finally made a short lesson explaining in detail how I do the violining/harmonica-effect - which originally was inspired by people like John Martyn, Yngwie Malmsteen (Echo Etude), Buckethead (Big Sur Moon), Roy Buchanan, Steve Morse, etc... it's all about setting a delay pedal to a simple slap back delay (one repetition) and volume swelling each note.

I hope you'll enjoy it.

Here are two full videos of this technique in use:

  • That sounds so cool. How long it took you to learn that volume knob thingy so smoothly? Looks like worth practicing but im very impatient.

If you havent seen it already, here´s Bucketheads delay song "Big Sur Moon" watch?v=lkeXE6FOf6s. It´s pretty awesome.

  • @pololopo23 practice slowly and you will learn it fast :) Cheers for the Buckethead reminder, he's so fuckin awesome!!!! Have you seen him dancing b4 Big Sur Moon live in Rio? It's mental...

  • @QuistTV

So you didn't even moe your hand from off of the volume knob?

  • @Dunnization that's right, it stays on the volume knob at all times, swelling each note...
