  • This finish sends chills down my spine

  • this was just like me in the jr. high confrence. there was 200meters to go in the race and i was in third and all of the sudden i fet like i had a huge amount of energy and i went into the fastest sprint i ever did and i gained on the guy in second and then passed the guy in first with 100m to go and i just kept goin and at the end i just collapsed. it was by far the gratest moment in my life. i ran a 4:46 mile that day.

  • i just watched the film about his life!" amazing guy!

  • I remember watching this as a kid..awesome

  • Perfect Andan- I felt the same thing, but you say it so well- icing on the cake, that fan yelling like that- wish I'd been there....

  • Now That was a real Mill Worker!

  • It really is incredible that he went from a time that some guys in DIII college track run, to a time that is even elite by todays standard.

  • Life comes down to a few moments (stolen from WallStreet - but true). Billy knew it was one of those moments. Roger Bannister raced early to break 4 minutes, Many examples - but you must seize the moment in your life.....

  • Just amazing. What an amazing human being. The finish is incredible...

    I find this so inspiring!

  • I watched this as a kid on TV as it was broadcast! I was a huge track and field fan back then and knew that no American had ever won Gold and, in fact only one American, Lewis Tewanima in 1912, had even medaled in the event. It still gives me chills to see this.

  • The guy screaming "Look at Mills, look at Mills" got fired for that outburst!!

  • I am not Lakota Sioux, I am from Mexico, but watching this video brings tears to my eyes, and reading about his life and his accomplishment inspires me. He overcame prejudice and conquered. All my respect to Him and all his people, the real owners of U.S.A.
