@synthpop88 Yes, great idea! And anyone can make acetate with just vinegar and baking soda! Some instructions on this can be found by Googling "how to make acetate". I'd be very interest to see the effects of this if anyone tries this out in the MudWatt. All hail the Keegoites!

hm, I've heard these bacteria typically like consuming acetate; I wonder how power output would change if one added some sodium acetate to the solution....

Wow this's a step forward! Great for powering LCD clocks and other low power devices. I'm guessing the power boost granules provide extra nutrients for the bacteria. I'd love a future canister with a USB port soldered to the circuit board that can trickle charge a cellphone over night. Or even a small LED flashlight. Dare I dream...? Full backyard mud watts. One day leading to vast anodes and cathodes spreading acres underneath farmland. Keep at it!
