  • Hey Kat and Gale I just got my Duo Steel Tronic Machine today and to my surprise it has a fixed pod portafilter in it! Is there anyway I can make my machine do ground espresso rather than pods? Also can I only pull one shot for one pod? SO if i take 3 shots for my espresso drink, do I have to use 3 pods? Thanks! Take care.

  • @snakedoc1306 That is bizarre! Did you get it from us? We haven't seen them as pod-only and not convertible, unless they did another manufacturing round. If you can show us a photo that would be awesome. As of now, each pod is a single shot (they don't have doubles in the US) so you'll need to pull three separates. - Kat

  • @SeattleCoffeeGear Yeah I know I was shocked and disappointed when I seen it! If you guys can figure out anyway to get it converted that would be amazing! Also do you guys do trade ins? If so could i trade it in and get a more conventional espresso machine? Youtube wont let me post a link for whatever reason, so can i email you guys directly? Thanks again Kat!

  • @snakedoc1306 Hmmm - we haven't seen this so don't know how you would convert it. We do trade ins; on our site there is a link to the program -- just contact us through that with all the info about your machine and they'll get back to you if they can take it in and, if so, how much they'd give you for it. - Kat

  • Just wanna say you guys at SeattleCoffeeGear are the best! Sold me basic Delonghi Espresso machine for $50 and it was shipped super fast and works great!

Though I did just buy the Ascaso Steel Duo Tronic on ebay today for $200!!!! I cannot wait to get it! Is it a good machine?

  • @snakedoc1306 It is good for what it is -- and that's a smokin' deal! It uses a thermoblock for the second steam boiler, so not as powerful as other double boilers, but definitely more powerful than you DeLonghi. Enjoy it! :) - Kat

  • There are just minor changes from these guys -- the same accessories kit as on the Uno PID (upgraded steam wand choice) and there is a new Dream coming out. We will post an update to the Dream, but since the others are functionally identical, I don't think we'll do another review like this. Probably just functional crew reviews of each. - Kat

  • Are you guys also gonna test the new 2010 line?

There more like the ascaso with PID you tested a while back.

Also there is a new steamtip on them :-)

  • Ha - yes, there is no comparison, really :) - Kat

  • Well... cool machine's, but the rocket machine's is still my favorites. ;D
