very true, most people come up with the look on their face that they want to try it out but are afriad of what their friends will think of them. Some of them evensneak in under cover to try to play without letting their friends know! :) Im sorry this type of club is not socially acceptable but its perfectly functional.

Except belegarth isn't like traditional LARP. Roleplaying takes a back seat, and the fate of the battle is determined purely by fighter skill and teamwork. The fighters have no stats, spells, or HP, and influence is earned through the strength of your arm. Hits to the limbs means to 'lose' them, and the body is death. Combat is full force which makes the padded weapons hurt without leaving one badly injured.

Overall, it may look odd. But its mad fun.

@dacmarcinakis Padded swodfighting is one of my hobbies along with HEMA and guitar. People would be surprised if they knew what kind of people do this stuff. The funniest, most perverse and also most grown-up people I know do this. No one has any pre-assumptions against anyone else. No one's trying to be 'cool'. They're simply the most wonderful people I know.

Ive been in the SCA for about 3 years and I cannot for the life of me get past the Egos involved. So I am looking for another venture. As a comparison this looks to be alot cheaper to do.
