First, the World's Columbian Exposition in the 19th Century, then the World's Fair in the 20th Century. What's Chicago's world event for the 21st Century? It might be the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
I think is either Rio or Tokyo. Rio already got the World Cup 2014 (which works in their favor). Plus, let's be honest, Rio is THE most beautiful town of them all. Tokyo's video was so cold and boring with the flying ribbon soonze fest. Plus Tokyo is a high tech place but is boring as hell.
Yes...But you should know that Europe is not the same country, or even region. And as you see, there was no more than 1 Olympic Games held in Europe's country It is sub/continent. I'm not against the candidatures of Canada or Mexico for the OG, but c'mon, USA again...Let's have some fairness - 4 OG in one country...Not too much?
So? In the past 16 years there have been 5 games in Europe and by the times 2016 roles around there will have been 2 more in Europe that's 7 in 24 years with with Barcelona,Albertivile-92 Lillehammber 94 Athens 2004 Tornio 2006 London 2012 Sochi 2014.
I thini it will come down to Chicago or Rio,with Chicago winning. Athens 2004,London 2012 Sochi 2014 Torino 2006 all these games in Europe will hurt Madrid and Prague. It's to soon for Asia, and with Brazil hosting a World Cup in 2014 will definitely give an edge to Chicago.
