First and foremost, I'm not sure of the legality of using this copy of Windows XP, so you MUST have a legally purchased copy of Windows XP (I have one), to use it. Like I said, this is the same windows xp, but has been stripped down to make it useful for this situation and others like gaming and such. I did not create this version of windows and take absolutely no credit for doing so.

Like I stated in the video, this should probably work with any OS that is capable of running virtual box, not just ubuntu. It's very useful for when you want to run linux, but there are a few things (like netflix) that keep pulling you back to windows.

  • So the solution is to install Windows on Linux to see Netflix? Okeeeey...

  • @charlynet7jcmg yes, but its not like having windows full time. Its an extremely gutted version of windows that loads in no time and works for things like this.

  • To anyone who is having problems with the audio on this video, I'm not having problems hearing on my end, but have had several people tell me they are. I've just been notified by youtube that I will be receiving money for my videos and I'm in a 48 hour waiting period. Once My youtube account is monetized, I will rerecord this video with better audio and repost it.

  • You should rerecord this... If you know it's shitty, than what do you think everyone else is going to think.

  • @deartheophoto well, because I don't get paid to make youtube videos and I made this as a courtesy to show other people how to do it. The volume is a little low but you can still hear it, so it can't be that bad.

  • @jeff30458 I can't hear the voice. Even when pumping it through my stereo, the voice is indistinguishable. The only thing I heard clearly was the cough.

  • @GyroRX8 lol let me sum it up for you lol, you download virtual box, install the windows inside of it, and install silverlight and it works

  • Hey rick, there is actually a program you can use to rip your windows installation disc and take out and add programs, log in /log out screens/ name of operating systems. virtually create your own windows installation cd. I did my own installation cd with all the drivers and everything I like my computer set up like for windows using that app, and named it after myself. You can still use your cd key to pass genuin.

  • Great Vieos!!!! In the time that I watched this I downloaded the VM box, downloaded micro xp installed it> You did a great job with the instructions and the fact that you uploaded this video in 720p makes it easy to follow. Thanks

  • @jeff30458 dude can you make another how to install netflix on ubuntu tutorial

you owe it to all your viewers this much , for making this soundless video

  • God damn it, you guys need to label your titles better. Your not really running netflix in linux. Your running it in windows, via virtualbox. Big difference. All these videos about "netflix in linux" are misleading. Get your views another way. I dont know why I keep thinkin someone has figured out a way. have to wait for html5.

  • do u have the Acer Aspire 3680??
