John Barrow, Representative from the twelfth district of Georgia, testifies at a U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Education and Labor hearing concerning legislation to help prevent worksite explosions like the one at the Imperial Sugar refinery in Port Wentworth, Georgia, in early February that killed 12 workers and critically injured 11 others.

  • He's voting for a bill that he knows full well that the Republican administration will veto. This way, he can look more liberal/pro labor while still being a puppet for the Republican party although he is a Democrat. Confusing? Look carefully at his voting record. He votes with the Republicans when it actually counts.

  • I'm amazed that our most Republican Democrat was actually for this legislation. This bill has been passed in the House. The bill now goes on to be voted on in the Senate. And then it will get vetoed. The Administration strongly opposes House passage of H.R. 5522.
