I heard Baila first in Victoria in Canada in the home of of my Professor and friends Dr. Siri and Hemamali Gunasinghe years ago listening to it now makes me home sick for not the wonderful funfilled evenings that we spent to gether but also of my delightful trip to Sri Lanks in 20003. Ilove Sri lanka and their fun filled baila music!!!

Oh, this brings back memories of the Little Hut (Mt. Lavania Hotel) and Club 2000 (Galadari) in the early 80's when my brother played for Upekha. By popular request they played baila at these clubs. It was so great. The dance hall gets packed and there was no space to dance! But we had really great times. Nothing like Sri Lanka baila!
