  • Why does the GPWS not call out 50 40 30 20 10 and minimums ?

    It seems to stop at 100 in the ERJ's

  • The aircraft is landing on runway 15. When the aircraft comes out of the cloud, and tower blocks are seen below, this is Castle Vale estate, the site of the old Castle Bromwich aerodrome. Just across the road to the right (now Jaguar cars) was the shadow factory that produced Spitfire aircraft in WW 2. These were test flown from Castle Brom by the legendary Alex Henshaw.
