THE DESCENT in theaters everywhere August 4th. One year after a tragic accident, six girlfriends meet in a remote part of the Appalachians for their annual extreme outdoor adventure, in this case the exploration of a cave hidden deep in the woods. Far below the surface of the earth, disaster strikes, and there's no way out.

@kunigas123 Yeah, just saw it on the Sci Fi channel. Twice. The first I slept through the begining. Not the film's fault, I was drowsy before. The second I was unlycky and dialed the channel too late.
But I was puzzled by the end, checked some reviews, and made sense of the torch/cancles connection.
BTW, the sequel assumes not only Sarah but also Juno survived the impending crawler attack. Sarah gets amnesiac. Juno apparently becomes a crawler superpredator :-)
@Eikinkloster Ha, super predator. At the moment the film sounds like Resident Evil Apocalypse, where the main character is a "nuclear" weapon and her friend is the "predator" who is a bad ass zombie.
I'm wondering how in Descent 2, different people decide to go into the same cave and get trapped (most likely).
@kunigas123 I was thinking of "super predator" in biology: a predator of predators. I.e. Juno was living off eating crawlers.
I didn't get the references from R E Apocalypse. The "nuclear weapon" is probably Mila Jovovitch, but who is the "predator"? Is that the movie or a game?
The people in the cave in Descent 2 is a rescue team. Sarah is with them because she says she is amnesiac and the sheriff is suspicious of her. He argues she is the only one who knows the cave and coerces her back.
Yes, i understand that you meant predator in biology.
I am not saying that you did get any reference from RE. I'm saying that it was the first thing that came to my mind and I'm just comparing it to this, although it is nothing similar. Just that in RE there is the weapon and the monster, i suspect you have seen the film so i hope you understand the similarity between my statement of my two film comparison. And i was talking about the film as you may have noticed by now :)
Oh, that explains it all then. I must say the rescue team is quite a weak one. From the trailer they look just like simple people and they don't even have guns even though they know what their expecting, unless the trailer shows another poor team just looking for adventure.
The issue is that Sarah is amnesiac, so nobody (including her) is even hinting at an encounter with an army of vampiric cavemen. The Sheriff is shown in one of the clips wondering there is a psycho in the cave, but he is also suspicious the psycho IS Sarah.
He is carrying a firearm too, and he discharges it on a crawler, causing a landslide in the caves, hinting it is actually a good thing the others aren't carrying guns.

Oo, gotta go :) Matrix Revolution is back on.
